Week5 Narrative(Continue) and Descriptive


           On Monday 30th January,I learned narrative continue about creative development.I discussed the story's symbols with friends.After that,I learned the new lesson was description. The teacher explained this lesson by show us some picture that are the picture of Dragonflies, Ants and Komodo dragon.


      
            Teacher showed pictures and asked us that what did you see in the picture? The pictures are green darner dragonflies, Ants, Actresses between Julia Roberts and Pancake Khemanit Jamikorn, Budapest, Prague. We described and reveal a particular person, animal, place, or thing.

          Next we read the text about 'Komodo Dragon (Varanus -Komodoensis)' and found the answer for questions by made the spider web. Finally, teacher assigned homework to us to do every exercise in this sheet.


           I like learning about the animals, because it makes me excited and never boring. It's fun to talk to friends about “Descriptive”.I think some words is difficult for scanning search topics in paragraph. I don't know the meaning but I choose each option solved as dictionary book, search the internet on smart phone.

Week4 Narrative(Continue)

            On Sunday 29th January,the teacher taught me continue last week. I started class with check homework that the teacher instructed me to do.I learned the new lesson was narratives continued. We read about the second part of the story 'Secrets' by Tim Winton and did exercises.

A summary of the first part of the story.
       
         Kylie feels lefr out from her mother and Philip's activities. She becomes interested in the chickens in the yard. Somehow her secret helps her to feel less lonely. She finds a second egg and then finds out where others are being laid by an unhealthy-looking hen.  She was happy sharing the secret with hen. Philip tells her that not to open the lid of the bore well but she does. She looks on her photo album, misses her father and wants to live with him.

A summary of the second part of the story in the exercise C.

- Kylie watched the hen sitting on ten eggs.
- She takes the lid off the well.
- She starts to go down the well with her photo album every day.
- She watches Philip and her mother and wonder why her father is not with them.
- Philip discovers her in the well and hits her.
- Kylie throws the chicks down the well.
- Kylie hits the hen and throws it down the well.
- She chooses one special photo which makes her feel good.
- Kylie cuts off her head from the special photo and throws it away.

           I did exercise C put sentences in the right order to produce a summary of the second part of the story. Then, I did exercise D and exercise E. I feel very sorry to Kylie more than everyone because she was neglect by her mother. She felt lonely and has problem associated with contemporary family life. This story told me about the love of family is important to take care and look after because love is help everyone happy.


           I think this lesson it rather difficult for me because it long plot and I don't know about vocabulary. I waste time about find vocabulary. Sometimes I don't know the meaning of the text. So, I don't answer the questions,but I tried to practice and asked my friends about each problem.

Week3 Recount (continue) and Narratives

          On Monday 23rd January, I read "An Excursion to the Botanic Garden" We analyzed what orientation,events and reorientation.Then we chose the correct answer and answered the questions.After that, I read a news report about five Vietnamese nationals were arrested for stealing cash.
            
          I think this news is very important, now ASEAN is opened already. The member of ASEAN can come to our country easily for work or travel.
            
          Then,we read was “Investigation report”, it was about the couple was stopped by the policeman because they were exceeding the speed limit on the Dumbarton highway in a truck but finally, they escaped.We didn't have enough time to do this exercise.     
            
          I think to answered questions very quickly if I highlighted an orientation that are what,who,when,where.

          Teacher gave a new sheet for us. It was about narrative. I put a cross on line in the circle, at an appropriate point, to show how we felt as a child. I learned about Secrets by Tim Winton. After that, we read the secrets story part one. Paragraph 1 is an orientation, we found who, what, when, where and summarize this paragraph.
- She moved to live with her mother but she want to live with her father.
- She found an egg in the yard.
- She kept the secret.

Week2 Recount

            On Monday 16th January, First, teacher reviewed the lesson from last week about “Recount”. This lesson feature Personal Recount, Factual Recount, and Imaginative Recount. I did analyse the text below. Next I read this text and I answered the questions about “My Grandpa's Funeral in Toraja".I practice about find text organisation and language features from this text.

Types of Recount: 
            1.  Personal Recount - retelling of an activity that the writer/speaker has been personally involved in (e.g. diary entry etc).
            2. Factual Recount - recording the  particulars of an incident (e.g. report of a science experiment, police report, news report etc).
            3. Imaginative Recount - taking on an imaginary role (e.g. a day in the life of Roman slave; how I invented...).

            Then I learned about language features and there're 3 part in recount.

-Orientation    = When who what where

-Eventsaction  = verb/past tense, linking words to do with                            time, specific participants.

-Reorientation = After that teacher assigned to identify genre of text and discourse markers.


            Finally, In my attitude this lesson is very benefit But this lesson is very hard for me because I didn't like to read the long text and the text wasn't interesting but the teacher taught reading skills to me . It's made to easy understand translation to know the story.
